Bmw m3 e46 forum6/18/2023 ![]() Managed to find an OEM BMW rack in Cork which I got for 60 quid posted! Now the M3 is as practical as I will ever need it to be I can say that its a brilliant car as a daily! One of the key things I wanted to source was a roof rack for it as I regularly carry the bike or kayak. Luckily mine has had all rust addressed and is rust free! Ill look into the modification of the arch liner as a preventative measure for sure I should have mentioned that a rust free M3 was a preference of mine. I paid about €800 for a pair of brand new wings before I sold the car, so it's definitely a worthwhile exercise if no rust.Thansk for the advice. The metal is quite thin and so rust can eat through very quickly. I think there is also a mod that involves trimming the front arch liners slightly to prevent it from rubbing on the wings. Get the front arch liners off and inspect the wings for rust - if no rust, treat them and use some underside sealer. Oh, and I would highly recommend cleaning the underside of all 4 arches. I still hear and see my old car every day as the new owner lives locally. It's still quite raspy, just slightly toned down compared to stock. Expensive though, very expensive! Enjoy the car as is and get used to it and you'll appreciate the mods afterwards
